Lane County was named after its first territorial governor, General Joseph Lane. First settlers came to Lane County during the 1800’s mainly to farm. The discovery of gold in the Bohemia Mountains led several towns to boom. Lane County includes these cities: Cheshire, Eugene, Monroe, Walton, Dexter, Junction City, Florence, and Springfield.
4,620 square miles, spanning from the Pacific Ocean to the Cascade Mountains. According to 2010 U.S. Census Bureau data, Lane County has a population of 351,715. Lane County is larger than Delaware and Rhode Island combined and almost the size of Connecticut. Although 90% percent of Lane County is forestland, it is Oregon's 4th most populous county and the cities of Eugene and Springfield comprise the 3rd largest metropolitan area in the state.
Lane County's economy has been based on timber and agriculture. Agriculture is important because of the fertile soil and moderate climate. From the coast to the mountains, Lane County communities offer something for everyone, from big city excitement to small town charm. These livable communities offer outdoor recreation, sports, music, theater, and arts, and are supported by a diverse economy, including agriculture, education, manufacturing, technology, recreation, and tourism.
Lane County is popular for its 73 recreational county parks, 20 historic covered bridges and for its wineries which includes Willamette Valley Wineries.
Our Valley Oregon Homes team has decades of combined experience working in Lane County. From selling homes, land to multi-million dollar properties. This county has a different feel to it, as compared to all the other counties.

In Eugene you will find condo's, custom homes, luxury homes and regular metro-type smaller homes. In the other towns, you will mostly find country and historic homes. A lot like the outskirts of Marion County.
