Springfield is a medium sized town in Lane County Oregon. In the most southern part of the Willamette Valley. It is included in the Eugene Metropolitan Statistical Area.

As of the last census in 2010, there is a total population of 59,403.

The first family to come into this town was the Briggs family. They first settled in Springfield around 1848, over 30yrs later the city was incorporated. Named after a natural spring located in prairie within the city boundaries.

The biggest employer is PeaceHealth, and the Public education system. Which is provided by the Sprinfield School District.
