Newberg is a medium sized city in the county of Yamhill. Attached to the Portland metropolitan area. It is also home to the famous George Fox University.

As of the last census in 2010, the city population is 22,110. Making it the second biggest city in Yamhill, next to McMinnville.

Joseph Rogers was the first settler next to the Willamette River, where Newberg is currently located. In the beggining, it was named Chehalem, then shortly after Roger's Landing.

It wasn't until 1889 when the first post office opened up and a man named Sabastian Brutscher because the first postmaster. His hometown was Neuberg in Germany. Where they got the current name of the city.
