617 23RD AVE, Longview, WA 98632

Property Description

Ask anyone in Longview where they love to spend a sunny afternoon and you’ll hear the same answer: Lake Sacajawea. From this front door, it’s a two-minute walk straight up 23rd Avenue. Mornings on the path, evening strolls, picnics by the water and the place you take every out-of-town guest are all practically in your backyard.Built in 1940, the home has kept the kind of craftsmanship that’s hard to find anymore, and it’s been well cared for. Hardwood floors run through the living room, where big picture windows pull in the light. The kitchen is warm and bright, with windows on nearly every wall, classic wood-paneled walls, rich wood cabinetry and a built-in wall oven. There’s a perfect spot for a breakfast bar or small table, right where morning coffee and homework naturally happen. Just off the kitchen, the utility room has loads of cabinetry and leads out to the fully fenced backyard. Two bedrooms sit across the hall from each other on the main floor. The bath pairs a newer vanity with vintage green tile that’s worth a look in person. Then there’s the ladder in the hall. Pull it down and you’ll find a long, bright room tucked under the roofline, nearly 250 square feet, with built-in drawers along one wall. It’s used as a bedroom and band room right now, but it could just as easily be a studio, playroom or hobby space. It isn’t counted in the county square footage, so it’s space you won’t find on paper.Out back, a covered patio sits next to the detached garage, which offers work space, storage and an EV outlet for your car, plus paved alley access. Hospital is under a mile away, and shopping and I-5 are just minutes from home. A well-loved home a short walk from the town’s pride and joy. Come see it for yourself.
