Aurora is a city on the border of Marion and Clackamas Counties in Oregon. It was founded as a religious commune in 1856 by Dr. William Keil who named the settlement after his daughter. The population was 918 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).  Primary drivers of the economy in Aurora are agriculture and the Aurora State Airport (aka Wes Lematta Airfield), which is home to Van's Kit Planes (one of the largest airplane kit manufacturers in the USA), and Columbia Helecopters, in addition to three FBO's: Aurora Aviation, Aurora Jet Center, and Willamette Aviation.

The median income for a household in the city was a very healthy $55,938, and the median income for a family was $65,556.

North Marion School District has a unique school system with four schools within walking distance: North Marion Primary School), North Marion Intermediate School, North Marion Middle School, and North Marion High School.
